What is QHub Wiki?
QHub Wiki is a free, self-hosted, open-source AI assistant for team knowledge bases. It connects to WikiJS via a Chrome browser extension and answers questions from a team's existing documentation in natural language, without opening the wiki. Built on WikiJS and Qdrant vector search, licensed under Apache 2.0.
Is QHub free to use?
Yes. QHub Wiki is free forever, open source under the Apache 2.0 license. There are no per-user fees and no monthly costs. You provide your own LLM API key (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, or OpenRouter). A managed install option is available for $299 one-time for teams that prefer not to self-deploy.
What does QHub require to run?
QHub requires a Linux server (AWS, Azure, GCP, DigitalOcean, or on-premise), Docker, Ansible, and a paid LLM API key (Claude, OpenAI, or OpenRouter). Deployment takes 30–45 minutes with three commands: git clone, configure .env, and ansible-playbook deploy.yml.
How is QHub different from Confluence or Notion?
QHub Wiki is self-hosted and free, where Confluence and Notion are cloud-only SaaS products with per-seat pricing. QHub includes built-in AI semantic search via Qdrant vector embeddings, a Chrome extension for querying from any browser tab, unlimited users, and full data sovereignty: your knowledge base and all documents stay on your own server.
